What They Do
The River Valley Child Advocacy Center provides five essential services to suspected child abuse victims and non-offending caregivers: Forensic Interviewing, Advocacy, Mental Health, Medical Examinations, and Prevention and Education.
Advocacy
RVCAC's advocates support children and their families throughout the entire legal process, connecting them with essential resources and collaborating with the Multi-Disciplinary Team to ensure their voices are heard.
Forensic Interviews
Forensic Interviews at RVCAC are conducted by trained professionals in a child-friendly setting, allowing children to disclose abuse comfortably. These interviews are video recorded to prevent repeated trauma.
Mental Health
RVCAC offers Trauma-Focused Therapy to help children and adolescents process and cope with their experiences, as well as counseling for non-offending caregivers.
Medical Exams
RVCAC provides on-site medical exams at no cost to ensure the health and safety of the child, conducted by certified nurses using noninvasive techniques.
Prevention & Education
RVCAC educates the community on the signs of child abuse and offers prevention programs for children and training for adults, tailored to the needs of each organization. For more information, contact Haleigh@rivervalleycac.org
